Darwin is the Founder and Principal of Gloria Avenue Partners. He is a first-generation college graduate and the youngest of five siblings. His family has called Los Angeles home for nearly 85 years, and much of it still does.
Before starting Gloria Avenue Partners, he worked in investment banking and later in lower middle-market private equity at Oaktree. His interest in entrepreneurship started early. He remembers doing house-sitting and landscaping jobs around the neighborhood to make extra money, helping his uncle pour cement for a fence, and working throughout his time in college. He was always focused on understanding what it would take to eventually run and grow a business of his own.
Darwin cares deeply about community, especially in Southern California where he grew up. He is involved in nonprofit work focused on education and access to opportunity. He brings that same mindset to the businesses he partners with and aims to support the people behind the work as much as the operations themselves.
